Estate Administrator Liability

Is a court appionted administrator of an estate liable for the deceased debts from the administrators personal finances/assets? What if the deceased and administrator were married at the time of death?

Re: Estate Administrator Liability

The administrator's role is to manage the assets and liabilities of the estate. The administrator's personal finances are not used nor comingled with the estate. Whether the administrator was married to the deceased at the time of death is not relevant. However, there may be instances when liabilities are joint liabilities or there is some other financial connection between them. This would have to be reviewed on a case by case basis.
