Re: estate law

I need more information.Does the trust document indicate whether a trustee can designate their duties to a third person and can the trustee designate her/his duties to the beneficiary? Are you the beneficiary? What is your role? I can't answer this question based upon the information you provided.

If the trust is situated in Connecticut, you would likely have to petition the court who appointed the original trustee to subsitute the new trustee.

I suggest that you start by reviewing the trust itself for the sections stating how a trustee is appointed or substituted. Many times it is a good idea to consult with an attorney in the area where the court is located to determine how best to accomplish your goals.
