Executrix spending estate money

After my father-in-law's death, his companion of 24 years assumed her designated role as executrix. The secretary of his law practice immediately gave herself a 300% raise to settle the office and the executrix approved. Money is being spent left and right to pay for things that were neither expenses incurred by the deceased before his death or specified in the will or checked with the heirs. Several lawsuits have suddenly surfaced against the estate from clients of the deceased's law practice. Real Estate property has been listed even before the heirs decided to sell. (By the way the Executrix is named in the will to inherit the entirety of a residence, so none of this pilfering affects her inheritance. An ''estate lawyer'' has been hired at $250/hour.) Does one or more of the other heirs have the right to step in and demand an accounting of the expenditures? What justifies current spending? Who should manage decisions re settling on law suits, etc. We are all out of state and alot of ''inside trading'' is going on. The vultures have descended! This is not what the deceased would have wanted.

All of the things about which you are concerned should be overseen by the probate court that has jurisdiction of the will. Contact the probate judge immediately.
