Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

When My father died in 2005 it became clear that my stepmother had hired a lwyer to change his will in the last years of his life when he had lost much of his mental abilities. I asked the lawyer to send me a copy of the original will so I could compare. He did so and also sent a cover letter stating that the only changes were minor and dealt with the handling of 1 piece of property. Stupidly, I took his word for it and never really compared the wills. Now that my stepmother has died and is dividing my fathers estate to whomever she wishes I am comparing the old wills and see that my fathers original will had been changed from (a)dividing his estate in two with 1/2 immediately going to his children and the other half to stepmother to (b) leaving everything to her. Can this lawyer be brought up on charges for sending me such a misleading cover letter? Can I contest her will on the basis of my fathers will being changed so late in his life?

Thanks -

Where are you in the probate process with your father's estate? Has the will been submitted to probate? You may have the right to challenge the will based on you standing as a benificiary. Based on the facts submitted, I would suggest you consider seeking further legal advice through an attroney.
