Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut
How can I find a trustworthy attorney that will work with me?
I don't know how to select an attorney. Is there any advice on finding one or a select few I can choose from?

Call the Connecticut Bar Association or the Bar Association in the County in which you live and ask for an attorney who specializes in wills and estate planning in an area close to where you live.

That's perhaps the oldest question in the book, and perhaps the hardest to answer. There are lots of trustworthy attorneys who work in the area of probate, trusts and estates (and, unfortunately, a few who aren't so trustworthy). Word of mouth, recommendations from friends are the best. Next, ask the local Probate Court who they deal with regularly in their court. They won't outright recommend someone, but they may well tell you who does a lot of work in their court (and if they let him or her do a lot of work in their court, they must not think too badly of him or her). Look in Martindale-Hubbell (on line at .com) and search for attorneys in your area who practice in Probate, Estates or Wills. M-H is the nationally recognized list. At the end of the day, however, it is a personal comfort level that you must establish through your own dealings with a particular lawyer.
