Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut
My husband passed last Sept. His estate is worth almost 3 million. Connecticut has no set fees for excutor ( his son & myself are co-excutors). I more or less settle the funeral arrangements, the reception, brought half his ashes to another state for burial in family plot. Arranged down there for the final writing on headstone. Made copies/sent documents to attorney and other numerous tasks that are routine with dealing with death. Packed his personal clothes for donation (made list of items). Brought to large shelf units for storage of his hobby collection. I lost vacation time for following his wishes to be buried down south. What would you say is a reasonable percent to ask for?

Please give me a call. I can discuss what a typical fiduciary fee is, however, with an estate this size, you should have an attorney helping you with probate.

Fees aren't usually based on a percentage; rather they are based on a reasonable hourly rate for work performed. $35 - $45 per ghour is common. Also important is the amount of the "probate estate". You say $3,000,000. Is that for things that were in his name alone ( the probate estate), or things that were in joint names, or beneficiary accounts (life insurance, IRA's, 401k's, etc.?). Usually, you don't get paid for joint accounts, only in-his-name-only assets. Call me at 860.233.6336 to discuss, if you wish.
