Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Life Insurance Beneficiary

In 1998, my Mother was killed in a house fire that is in the process of now being handled in court for my brother is suppose to have set the fire. He has not been trialed for that yet. It is in the process. Anyway, my Mother's life insurance policy had my brother, me, and her sister's name listed as beneficiaries. Well, since my brother will probably not get his share and the I receive a motion for Default for Failure to Appear in the mail on his part from the insurance company which, they sent out the letter wanting me in court to my old address and not my new one so I did not know that it had even went to court! What I would like to know is what I can do or what forms can I file to get this changed. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

Re: Life Insurance Beneficiary

It depends on how long ago the default was acted on and if it's in Federal or State court. I might be handled with a simple phone call to the insurance company lawyers, but I need more facts.
