Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Power of Attorney Responsiblities

I have been asked to become someone's power of attorney. They recently sold their home, and have a lot of debt. They are also going through a long legal battle for something else. Will I be held accountable for any/all debts if they do not have the funds to pay off their debts?

No. Not unless you misbehave as the agent. You won't be responsible for their debts.
