Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Probate Court Records Proceedings

Is Probate Court Proceeding records open to the public? Can a third party find out how much a friends collection was sold for during the processing of the friends estate which unfortunately had no will. I just want to find out if the estate got riped off because the court appointed lawyer involved seemed to have no idea as to the value of the collection. The person he dealt with in the end is a know collection stealer by those in the know. He has ripped off distressed widows in the past for great profit.

Re: Probate Court Records Proceedings

Probate Court records (except for tax returns) are public records. You can go to the court and simply ask to see the file. How much the collection sold for probably won't be reported until the final accounting, however.
