Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Wills

My mother-in-law has been bugging my husband for our 3 sons' social security numbers because she and her 3rd husband are ''preparing our will and the 'attorney' needs them.'' I work in a bank and the cardinal rule is NEVER give out ssn's. My husband agreed. But being the Norman Bates that he is, he went and gave the psycho all 3 ssn's over the net via e-mail. Should this be a divorce question instead of a will question? Do lawyers need ssn's to prepare a will? I never heard of such a thing. You can simply name a person, can't you? Was he not wrong to comply in this day and age of identity theft?!

Re: Wills

Lawyers do not need SS#'s (unless they are currently opening an account).
