Legal Question in Workers Comp in Connecticut

carpal tunnel

Is repetetive motion injury claimable from workman's comp? I have a Dr's note to be allowed to rest 10 minutes every hour but my supervisor just laughed at it. There is no attempt to keep me from the areas that cause the most discomfort due to the way the register is set up. I am ready to quit but my husband said I should look into workman's comp first.

Re: carpal tunnel

I am an Illinois lawyer but I will try to help you. In most states repetitive injuries are compensible under Workers' Comp laws. If you are in a union you may have a grievance over the fact that the company will not honor your doctor's restriction to rest at times. But you should see a lawyer in your state who is familiar with your local laws. There generally is no fee for an intial consultation so you should not be embarassed to talk to an attorney. Good luck.
