Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Delaware
utility bills and bankruptcy
Are you able to claim current utility bills on bankruptcy petitions. We are also concerned about them denying us electric after filing. Is it possible and legal for them to do so if we include them in our list of creditors.

Re: utility bills and bankruptcy
You must include all debts in your bankruptcy filing, including utitlity bills. The utilities may require a deposit in order to continue service, but a shutoff generally is not a problem with which you have to deal.
