Legal Question in Business Law in Delaware
I live in Delaware and work for a rent-to-own company. In Delaware it is a class g felony if people steal the rental merchandise. The police have told me it is on us to file a civil lawsuit against the man that stole our merchandise. How is it a felony but the police refuse to arrest the man for the theft? Any advice would be appreciated?

When there is a civil remedy for a business, the police will tell you to pursue that. I assume it is a matter of prioritizing use of their limited resources.
