Re: ectasy possesion
In Colorado, it is a class 3 felony to possess over a gram and a class 6 felony under a gram on a first offense. Subsequent offenses are worse.
F3 carries a presumptive 4-12 year prison sentence with 5 years of parole, F6 12-18 months with 1 year of parole.
Many judges will give probation to first time offenders and some second offenders. If quantities are low and there are no priors of any kind, a misdemeanor may be available through a plea bargain.
As with all crimes, the political climate does affect the plea offers and sentences.
