Legal Question in Criminal Law in Delaware
Intentional hitting property
I was in convenience store parking lot. While changing gear my vehicle moved backward and just touched the building pole behind it. I came out, checked the car and the the pole and did not find any serious damgage. I left the scene. After more than a week , a cop came to me investigating the incident. I told him exactly what happened. He told me that are two witness saw you hitting the property and want to prosecute you. In short, the cop charged me with Malicious Mis. by MV. and criminal Mis. (There is absolutely no scratch or damage to my car) although the pole has broken wooden pieces. How can I defend myself?
