Legal Question in Criminal Law in Delaware

sentencing guideline

Hi my wife was sentenced to an 8 year term for embezzlement and she had spent two years in riverside county jail and has approximately 1409 days credit, what kind of time should she be looking at in prison, if any? and the judge said she is to serve 50% of her time and I remember reading about the new law where prisoners were entitled to serve 35% of there time. do you have any feedback for me? I feel that my wife is being treated unfair.

Thank You.

Re: sentencing guideline

The general rule is that a person who is in custody in a county jail receives good time credits of 1 day for every 3 days served. Once the person is in prison they receive 1 day of credit for each day they serve for good time and work time credit. To receive the credit to reduce their sentence to 1/2 they have to have a job and be working.
