Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Delaware
Do I have a Legal Leg to stand on??
I provide educational lectures and programs for Cancer. I was approved for a grant that covered my salary. The grant was approved and a member of the board that over sees the program signed a legal contract to except grant funds. the fund source excepted the signed contract and sent the check , I had been working 6 months with out funding. I would have rec'd 12,500 in back pay and forth coming another 12,500. after check can the same board member sent it back saying that we the board did not want the grant. so, i ask...we as a board voted to except program, then contract was signed, contract excepted, check rec'd...since without my knowledge the second vote(which is not valid) sent it back.Do I have a legal claim to my salary , and if so what court would I file in...and do I file for 6 month that I worked or all 12 months since I still do the program?

As with most legal questions, the answer on limited facts is a definite "maybe." An important fact is the relationship between your salary and the grant. It also is important to review a copy of the executed contract accepting the grant and a copy of any relevant board minutes.
