Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Delaware

Signing a contract - which name should I use? my DBA, LLC name or legal name?

I am about to sign a contract with a gallery / art publishing company in Canada and have a question about which name I should use to sign the contract: Should I use my legal name or my DBA name (registered in the USA, which is the same as my artist name) which is ''XX-YY'', I also have a LLC registered as ''XX-YY, LLC (My artist name (DBA) is different from my legal name).

I signed all my paintings with my artist name: ''XX-YY.

Since the contract regards copyright for giclees I thought it would be best to sign it with both names, my artist name (DBA) and also with my legal name in order to have my paintings/rights protected. Or is it better to only sign it with my artist name?

further: When getting paid a percentage from sold giclees, I want the gallery/art publishing company make their checks out to my legal name in the beginning. For this reason, should I sign the contract with my legal name? Or should I just tell the company about my legal name?

Thanks kindly for your help and advise!

Have the contract run through the LLC and sign in your own name as "Member" of the LLC. The signature block should look like this:

XX-YY, LLC
