Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Delaware

My father died on June 10, 2011 and lived in Bear, De since 2005 and he had no will. He started a relationship with a girlfriend in 2007, she has her own home but stayed with him on and off and had a key. After his death, she removed everything he owned except his clothes from the home . She removed a stainless steel refrigerator, stove and dish washer a front loading washer and dryer and replaced them with old items from her home. I have a long list of all of the items that were taken. She also took his 4 vehicles Cadillac escalade, jaguar, mercedez benz and a pickup truck and signed his name to put the titles in her name after his death. I went to the Dover, DE DMV with my father's passport to show his true signature and was told all of his vehicles were now in her name. She had a locksmith open his safe where the titles and other valuable items were kept and she took everything that would show that everything she took from his home belonged to my father. The New Castle County police and the Delaware State police said it was nothing they could do because it was an estate matter not fraud or theft. I have been made administrator of my father's estate, I reside in Philadelphia, PA and I am a single parent of two and do not have a lot of money. What are my options and what can I do legally about this matter to prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law and recover the items that were taken.

Sorry about your loss. If the value is significant, you will have to bring suit against your dad's girlfriend for the items removed from the estate.

The issue is their sufficient recoverable value for an attorney to represent you on a contingent fee basis if you can not afford legal fees.

You may contact me with more information and we can talk about the situation.
