Contract Signed Through Work

Upon working for a portrait studio in my area I signed a contract saying that no matter how I leave the company (franchise) after I am gone I can not work in the portrait photo industry for 2 years. Is this legal to deny someone work in something they are good at? I want to switch franchises

This may depend on the reasonableness of the restriction. For example, how many miles from your current employer, etc.
