Re: mechanics lien

In D.C., a mechanic's lien notice is filed with the land records within 90(? - I don't have the code handy) days of completion of the work and then suit must be filed to enforce the lien within a few months thereafter. If a license is required to do the work (i.e., home improvement) and you don't have one, you are barred from recovery.

If you need to file a mechanic's lien, we may be able to help if you are still timely. Act quickly, whatever you do, and do not rely on the time periods I provided, as they are just an educated guess.
