Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in District of Columbia

I recently subscribed to Law Guru's free newsletter and recveived an email asking me to confirm my subscription. However, each time I clicked on the link to confirm my subscription, a new window pops up demanding a user name and password. No user name and/or password was asked for or issued when I originally signed up. Please advise. Thank you.
