It's the Supreme Court opinion in Bush v. Gore, the case which decided the 2000 presidential election. The Supremes elected Mr. Bush, 5-4.

My friend, Mr. Stone, does not mince words. The court decided to set aside years of precedent and rule against Mr. Gore, who obviously exhibited (and still does exhibit) far more intellect than his opponent. Needless to say, the Gore team might have made a tactical mistake by not ordering a recount of all of the ballots in the entire state of Florida, and by limiting the count to only certain counties did not treat all counties equally. It's remarkable reading if you're up to the task. It's one of the reasons that young people must become more involved in helping to shape society for the better. Congratulations to your teacher for assigning this reading.
