Legal Question in Consumer Law in District of Columbia
Contract
I was awarded financial aid from The Washington Center for Internships when I applied to participate in my internship for academic credit which will be transfered back to my home university in Florida. Here is my question: TWC sent me 3 bills before I arrived in DC stating the following: I was awarded $4,500.00 in fin. aid and I would be responsible for $3,020.00 myself and thats what I agreed to and teh only reson I participated in TWC's program. I entered into 2 contracts upon arrival stating the above, one a promisary note, and two a statement that I was awarded the funds and i only owe 3,020.00. I paid my 3,020.00 as agreed in full in the prom. note. In march TWC notified me that they made a mistake in my acct. and took back my 4,500 of fin. aid that they gave to me and now I am responsible for paying it in full by 1st may or I will not be able to graduate from my home university b/c they will not release my grades to them. Do i have to pay for their mistake since I entered into written contract with them and upheld my part of them? Please help me with any response you can provide, it is greatly appreciated.

Re: Contract
You need to consult with a lawyer, allowing
him/her to review all relevant documentation in
the case, including the contract and your cancelled checks or other receipts reflecting full
payment on your part. Also, the documentation showing the grades you earned while enrolled in the TWC program and the conditions for allowing transfer of these credits to other institutions.
