Legal Question in Consumer Law in District of Columbia

service exceeded estimate cost 3

Thank you for your previous help. This morning I called company again-no answer, left message, called number on invoice-it was no longer in service. I had an 8:30 appointment with company to finish work (which had been paid for in the check I previously)-the company was a no show and did not call. I called the Bank to reinstate the stop check. The bank says it is in effect for next 6 months. What do I do now? I guess they will be sending me legal docs on this? Can you let me know what my next steps should be? Do I need a lawyer or can I handle this myself? The company is due money for the work they did -but for the estimate/or near the estimate they priced the service at. I don't know what to do since they won't answer my calls. If they initiate legal action-will this be handled in small claims court? I called Best Buy and they told me they would have put the AV mount up for a $125 installation fee.

If and when you're served with court papers in this matter, contact an attorney who has experience with consumer affairs type legal matters in order to arrange for a consultation.
