Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in District of Columbia
default judgment lien
What is the expiration time period on a default judgment? What about if a judgment has been filed as a property lien and then attached to inherited property?

Re: default judgment lien
Once properly recorded, a general district court judgment(default or otherwise) is good for ten years and can be renewed for another ten; a circuit court judgment is valid for 20 years and renewable for another 20.
