Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in District of Columbia
loan repayment
I loaned my son-in-law a large sum of money in march 2004 and waited til he was able to repay. We had a verbal/written agreement and I want to attempt to collect on the debt now through the courts, is it too late?

Re: loan repayment
DC Code Sec. 12-301 Limitations on bringing actions-
(7) on a simple contract, express or implied---3 years.
It would appear that your right to enforce this particular contract in the courts of the District of Columbia expired in March of 2007.
