what is attempted threat? i have a friend that being charge with that crime is there any case studies

An attempt, i.e., some provable overt action on the part of the defendant to complete the commission of the substantive crime, is as fully punishable with the same penalties as that crime with which the attempt is connected under Title 22 of the DC Code.
