Is there case law to justify prosecuting someone for obstruction of justice (such as a waiter at a restaurant) who tips off a customer that law enforcement is there at the restuarant with an arrest warrant?

I doubt that your example would be considered as a valid obstruction

of justice offense, i.e., realistically prosecutable, in any jurisidiction with any real understanding of what the term means within the context of real life law enforcement activities.
