found gun in unlocked car

Could a person get charge for gun in an unlocked car? Also the car was parked in an alley and was towed. To this date, no one call regarding this matter. What will happen next?

It's likely time for this person to start making some attempts to get the car out from wherever it's been probably impounded (irrespective of what may have happened--or not to the gun).
