Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia

Good day. About 12yr ago I was accused of being a part of a armed robbery. Some friends (Aaron)of mine stopped by my home to get me for a game of basketball. Aaron stopped at his mothers house to retrieve his sneakers. At that point, I hopped in the drivers seat in front of his mothers house. We proceeded to the 7 eleven in Hyattsville to grab something to drink. Because it was a sudden decision, I pasted the store a few feet. Aaron and his cousin Terrance got out and ran into the establishment. They were in there all of 10mins. Terrance returned first, I then asked, "where is Aaron". He said, "I don't know what is taking Aaron so long".

While waiting, we were listening to the radio and all of a sudden we hear a gun shoot. I pulled off and realized he wasn't in the car and looked in the mirror and saw Aaron running. I stopped and he hopped in the car. I asked him, "what the hell was that sound". For a while, he didn't say anything.

We got about 3 or 4 miles from the 7 eleven and he said he tried to rob someone. Once he said that. I instantly drove back to my house and got out. I told them to go without me. Never thinking anymore about that situation. A month of so later. I visited my brother who is incarcerated. Upon entering the facility I was informed that there was a warrant out for my arrest. Something I had no knowledge of. At that time I inquired about the reason for the warrant and the officer said something about a traffic related issue and I would be out in hours. I later found out that the charge was ARMED ROBBERY, but later reduced to ACCESSORY TO ARMED ROBBERY after the fact. Uncertain to what that means since I was not affiliated with the crime nor did I have any knowledge of a potential criming taking place.

This situation has taken a toll on my personal life as well as my professional. I am unable to find a job or maintain employment once I land a job I am terminated because of the situation. I have made attempts to have this removed, but keep running into barriers.

So, why did you apparently decide to "cop a plea" to the felony known as

Accessory to Armed Robbery? (Of course, it's more than a little late

now to attempt to fix things in regard to your felony conviction,)
