Re: poss. of amunition

Generally, up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $1000, either or both.

However, there are exceptions to the above, and more severe penalties may be imposed such as where one has been convicted of knowingly and deliberately transferring ammunition to a minor under age 18 in which case such a defendant may be sentenced to up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000, either or both. See DC Code Sec. 7-2507.06
