Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia

What are the possible punishments for 'Disobeying a Lawful Order'?

Hi, some people participated in a non-violent civil disobedience action against the war at the Pentagon a month ago. They crossed a police line (peacefully) after being told they would be arrested if they did so. 51 people were charged with the same offense. ''Disobeying a Lawful Order'' (The trial will be held in a Federal court) For a person with no criminal record, what are the possible outcomes? Thank you very much.

I doubt that there will be a trial on this matter which involves what the "feds" call a petty offense. Most all of these cases will likely be disposed of by plea bargain wherein the defendants will agree to enter a plea of guilty and, consequently, receive a modest fine at most and an admonition from the U.S. magistrate judge not to repeat the offense.
