Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia
Rights as a witness on grand jury
I was at a bar having a beer and the place was busted. They gave me a subpoena to the grand jury. What are my rights? Should I get a attorney to come with me?
Thank you

Re: Rights as a witness on grand jury
You have a Constitutional right(5th Amendment)to refuse to answer any questions before the grand jury which might possibly incriminate you(expose you to criminal libility).
Therefore, if you think that you might possibly be later charged with some criminal violation in regard to this matter, you should retain the services of counsel to advise you as to how you should proceed whether as a witness or possible defendant in this particular matter.
