Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia
Statute of Limitations in DC
What is the statute of limitations on burglary in the second degree in the district of columbia? After the statute of limitations expires, can one be 'found guilty' and or punished for this crime? Thanks!

Re: Statute of Limitations in DC
Apparently, the government has up to six years to prosecute first or second degree felonies in the District of Columbia. (See Sec. 23-113 of D.C. Code.)
As a general rule, the answer to your second question is no.
