Child Custody

Can a father be on probation or convicted with a Felony or Misdemeanor and have custody of thier child? Or have joint custody?

If there were no other parent or competent relative ready, willing and able to step forward to assume custody, it might be possible for the father to take custody (of his child[ren], depending, of course, on what crime the father was convicted of, as well as the other relevant factors which by law the court would be required to consider in ruling on the matter.
