Child Support Payments

I was watching tv and one court shows came on the case was about child support and judge told the lady that her husband don't suppose to be paying child support because they are married and not divorce he said the money is suppose to be jointly is this true. If it is then i'll need to go down to child let them that I don't suppose to be paying it because we're still married. please respond asap.
