im from the uk and now live in washington dc ,i was married in scotland and im now getting divorced how do i go about it

Just go online to www.dccourts.gov.and click on a link to DC Superior Court and further links to representing yourself(pro se) and filing for divorce.

There should be ample information at this website and related links to inform you as to how you should proceed in obtaining a pro se divorce in the District of Columbia.
