Legal Question in Family Law in District of Columbia

I would like to know if a person is trying to serve you for child support and you dont get served, can there still be a court case?

You need to be a little more specific in your question. If you don't get served, then typically no court proceedings will go on without you (unless it can be shown that you are intentionally dodging service). If you don't get served, then the case still remains active until you get served.

In part the above the answer is correct. Service must be made before the lawsuiti can move forward. However, the plaintiff can request service by publication if he/she has made a diligent effort to find you. The judge will have to approve this unorthodox service.
