Legal Question in Family Law in District of Columbia

what if a woman divorces an abusive man and the in laws do not like her and agree to take care of the children for a summer than wind up forging documents and taking custody and now demands child support. does the mother have a case even though she was unemployed and temporarily homeless. can she regain custody even if the mother has no financial support?

The woman needs to hire a DC attorney IMMEDIATELY. There are many more facts to this case than you are stating here. Being unemployed and temporarily homeless does not by itself mean that the mother will lose custody of the child. If you do nothing, child support will continue to add up. If you don't pay it, you can be held in contempt of court and put in jail. SEEK COUNSEL IMMEDIATELY.
