Legal Question in Civil Litigation in District of Columbia

Is Tis Legal?

I have left my wife, and I hadn't been home for 3 weeks and somehow my wife got my unlisted phone number from the wireless service i belong to. She stated that she had a friend give her my phone number, plus a record of all the phone numbers that I have made. On these records were calls that I had made to chat lines. To say the least this caused great damage to my marriage, which I had already inflicted. I have alot of trouble sleeping, since I found out that she had a record of all my phone calls and could get it again. Is it leagal for a person to obtain a record of my phone calls?

Re: Is Tis Legal?

Phone records, normally, are only released

after a valid subpoena is served upon the telephone company by an administrative, legislative, or judicial body having the proper authority to issue such subpoenas.

The release of such telephone records under the scenario that you have described would be patently illegal.
