Legal Question in Immigration Law in District of Columbia
Citizenship and knowledge of English
Do I understand this correctly: if an alien doesn't know English, but an alien is over 65 and has been in the US up until now for 15 years as a permanent resident, he is exempt from English language requirement for citizenship? Are there any other additional rules or conditions for aliens who want to obtain citizenship without knowledge of ENglish?

You might want to check out the link to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services(hope I've got the new name right)under the Dept. of Homeland Security's website. It should have the information you're seeking.
