Legal Question in Immigration Law in District of Columbia
We Want to be Together
I have a special friend that lives in Kampala, Uganda we have corresponded for the past two years, I am a American citizen from Washington D.C.area. We want to meet, he has applied for visas and has been denied, I wanted to know if I could do anything from my end so that my friend may at least visit the US. I wrote an Invitation Letter to the Embassy of Uganda but my friend was still denied, will I have to hire an Immigratation Lawyer or is there anything else I can do.
Please give advice if you can, and Merry Christmas.

Re: We Want to be Together
If you're thinking about getting engaged to marry this "special friend" and actually become his fiance, then you could apply for a fiance's visa in his behalf.

Providing more evidence is supposed to work, but practically speaking once you have been denied a visa a couple of times especially in the region you are talking about, you are not likely to get anywhere. If you are serious about being with your special friend and know what you are getting into, you might want to consider marriage at this point. You may contact me for further assistance.

Your friend will need to prove "solid" ties to the country of nationality (or to another country outside the U.S.). The U.S. govenment wants to be sure that this individual will return home after their temporary stay in the U.S. Have a happy holiday.
