Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia

Domestic workers

Hi, I'm doing research for a professor.

Are domestic workers protected by most

labor laws? Are there differences/lacks

of protection for them based on their

WORK (not on an immigration issues)?

Thanks!

Re: Domestic workers

Domestic workers are protected under U.S. Department of Labor laws and regulations in the same substance and manner as any other salaried (paid by the hour) employees.

The fact that these employees may be doing so-called "domestic work" in no way diminishes their respective rights to be protected under these aforementioned laws and regulations.
