Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia

My job is now asking that employees furnish proof of education which was not asked for upon employment. Is this leagel?

Yes, it is legal for an employer to request proof of an educational requirement that existed at the time of your hire. And if you are unable to furnish it, you may be fired.
