Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia

I was at work on two occasions trying to buy some sneakers using my discount, which is a employee benefit to each and every employee to use at any Footlocker or Footaction store in the US. Now on both occasions I was forced by management in those stores to purchase something, something that I did not want. They did not ask me if I wanted to purchase something extra, they told me that I had to purchase something extra as a matter fact in the first store he grabbed an extra item and scanned it with my sneakers even though I told him that I did not want anything else. This is no where in the employee policy and I was just wondering is this kind of action against the law?

Yes. It is against the law if you were forced. It essentially amounts to a forced deduction in wages and is violative of Federal and D.C. law.
