Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia
wrongful termination/retaliation
i worked in dc for a major telecommunications company for 9 yrs and was terminated monday for ''falsification of company records''. basically my boss and i have had several run-ins before & she was just waiting for a chance to get rid of me. she found 2 old timesheets that had minor, honest mistakes on them and used those as a basis to terminate me. this also comes after i filed an EEO claim and reported her to the asst. vp of the company. my story is detailed but fortunately i saved ALL documents & correspondance because I had a feeling that this would happen. please help me. i would like to meet w/an attorney in the D/M/V area that can maybe waive the initial consult due to my present unemployment. i'm almost 100% that i have a legit case and am anxious to get my job back and compensation. i am telling any attormey that reads this: this would be a definite WIN-WIN case for all!!! i want to be compensated for all the harrassment that i've had to endure -and since this is a multibillion dollar co. - a few million isn't a lot to ask. (i'm sure can be worked out) please respond ASAP. thank you.

Re: wrongful termination/retaliation
Unless you had the protection of an employment contract against summary dismissal or your former employer provably discriminated against you on the basis of one of the protected categories of federal anti-discrimination law such as race, sex, ethnicity, age, etc., it would be very doubtful that you have what you describe as a "WIN-WIN" case. (DC, like Va. and Md., is an employment at will jurisdiction.)
If you've already filed a claim with EEOC, you should await the results of their investigation of your claim(s)and the issuance of a so-called right to sue letter, if any such is given, before proceeding any further with this matter.
