Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in District of Columbia

Apartment building turning water off for 3 days!

I just recieved a memo from my landlord that indicated they will be turning off water to our kitchen for 2 full days and then turning off our bathroom water for 3 full days for preventative maintenance. They have offered no solution to the obvious problems or any compensation (not to mention an apology). Is this legal?

Yes, I would think so, as long as their purpose is to fix problem(s)

which if not addressed now could be considerably more serious in the future, and which could result in your having no water for a week, or, who knows, perhaps, even longer.
