Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in District of Columbia
landlord selling condo and showing rights
my landlord is selling my condo and i've been really good about letting him show it to people. sometimes without 24 hour notice. i said i must always be present. i have a skiddish cat and she doesn't like people and will bite or attack if im not around. landlord said he can come anyway. anything i can do? am i liable if he comes when im not home and she attacks him or a client? he said to put her in a cage. i'm not doing that! i appreciate any help.
thanks!

Re: landlord selling condo and showing rights
Please review your lease for the section on landlord entry. In most leases the landlord may enter with "reasonable" notice. Anything less than 24 hours is not reasonable.
If you know your cat may injure someone and you don't take precautions you may be liable. Also if police enter your unit and are attacked they may kill your cat.
