Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in District of Columbia

Ownership

I am going to buy a house and have no intentions of marrying my current boyfriend. We do plan to live together but a realtor told him I could put his name on my deed once I bought the house, but if I did that I would need to have his permission. I have no intentions on placing his name on my deed but was wondering if this is true? I would be willing to have a contract drawn up to satisfy his concerns about his living arrangements. What would you suggest from a legal point of few?

Re: Ownership

Please consult an attorney.

If you "put his name on the deed", you are giving him an ownership interest in the property. I'm not sure what concerns about living arrangements he has or what type of contract you are suggesting. To repeat, please consult with an attorney.
